Horizontal Lifelines and Application Areas
Horizontal lifeline is a vital system designed to ensure the safety of employees in all kinds of structures that require working at height. The ARGA SAFETY brand A-500 Horizontal Lifeline is produced to ensure the full safety of personnel during work such as gutter cleaning, skylight cleaning, roof cladding installation, solar panel installation, as well as maintenance, repair, and dismantling works carried out on overhead cranes and gantry cranes.
Business centers, residences, plazas, hospitals, educational institutions, shopping malls, warehouses, and factories are the primary installation areas for these systems. Especially roof surfaces, facades, crane runways, and over-vehicle/over-truck work platforms installed in loading-unloading areas of factories are high-priority zones for horizontal lifeline installation.
The A-500 Horizontal Lifeline features a specially designed shock absorber. This component ensures that the load generated in the event of a possible fall remains below the limit of 6 kN, preventing harm to the worker’s body. All system components are manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel and are suitable for simultaneous use by up to 4 people. Our product is tested and certified according to EN 795:2012 TYPE C and TS 16415:2013 TYPE C standards.
Horizontal Lifeline Installation and Design Processes
The most critical task that must be performed before starting a horizontal lifeline installation is the correct engineering design of the line. This design process must be carried out by expert technical personnel. It must be verified through technical data that structural elements such as concrete, steel, or roof cladding where the installation will take place meet the load-bearing capacities required by the standards.
Correct identification of risks during site analysis is of vital importance. For example, skylight areas on roofs are the points where fall accidents occur most frequently. Once these risks are identified, the horizontal lifeline design that will protect the maintenance, repair, and installation processes is completed.
As ARGA SAFETY, we have pioneered a first in Turkey to convey the correct design of lifelines to users. You can watch our 3D animation video explaining the correct design and installation processes below:

Horizontal Lifeline Periodic Inspection and OHS Legislation
The vast majority of working at height equipment must be certified by notified bodies according to relevant EN standards and must bear the CE mark. All equipment must be inspected every year by competent experts, as specified in the “Instructions for Periodic Examinations” section of the EN 365 standard.
In the report prepared after horizontal lifeline periodic inspections, the serial number, year of manufacture, inspection points, and suitability status of the system must be clearly specified. Performing these inspections regularly is a legal obligation under the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 and the “Regulation on OHS in Construction Works”. The expert person or institution performing the periodic inspections assumes legal responsibility for the safety of the system with the report they prepare.
Horizontal Lifeline Warranty Conditions and Pricing Policy
The A-500 Horizontal Lifeline components, designed by ARGA SAFETY engineers, are manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel and supported by special coating materials to maximize corrosion resistance. This technology ensures that our systems are preferred in all heavy industrial sectors.
The A-500 Horizontal Lifeline is covered by our 15-year warranty from the date of installation, provided that annual periodic inspections are performed in accordance with the EN 365 standard.
At the core of our competitive pricing policy lies the fact that we carry out the design and manufacturing processes of all components in our own metal production facilities. Thanks to the production we carry out in our own machinery park, we offer high quality at accessible costs in both Turkish and global markets.
