Lifeline Periodic Inspection Training

Periodic Inspection and Technical Audit Training for Lifelines

Lifeline Periodic Inspection Training is designed to manage the technical audit mechanisms that ensure the sustainability of working at height safety. In accordance with the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment ANNEX-4 and EN 365 standards, horizontal and vertical lifelines must be inspected at least once a year by a “Competent Person”. This program offered by Arga Safety provides your personnel with the competence to technically analyze system components, measure strength values, and create legally valid reports.

Technical Inspection Methodology and EN Standards Compliance

Periodic inspections of lifelines cover not only the visual inspection of the system but also the testing of its mechanical integrity. During the lifeline periodic inspection training process, critical thresholds in EN 795 (Horizontal Lifelines) and EN 365 / EN 353 (Vertical Lifelines) standards are covered. Participants specialize in advanced technical matters such as tracking corrosion at anchor points, wire rope fatigue, reading shock absorber indicators, and measuring tension values.

Lifelines that are not inspected regularly are excluded from the manufacturer’s warranty coverage and make the system’s arrest capacity (kN) uncertain in the event of a possible fall. Our training presents the Lifespan of textile and metal components, static load testing requirements, and legal “Commissioning” protocols in a professional integrity.

Applied Inspection Techniques and Reporting Discipline

In the practical phase of the training, participants gain the reflexes of a technical inspector on real stations:

  • System Component Analysis: Physical deformation inspection of the glider (Runner), intermediate anchors, tensioning units, and terminations.
  • Application of Test Methods: Investigation of corrosion resistance thresholds with static and dynamic load analyses.
  • PPE Integration Inspection: Mechanical compatibility audit of safety harnesses and lanyards used together with the lifeline system.
  • Labeling and QR Code Systems: Marking the inspected line in accordance with EN 365 and ensuring traceability.
  • Technical Reporting (Logbook): Transforming the inspection results into a “Periodic Inspection Form” compliant with legal legislation.
